Ways to support PAI
Join PAI's circle of friends
For over 25 years PAI has been working to create a barrier-free inclusive world where people with disabilities enjoy a society that values all people and supports their rights to dignity, freedom, choice and quality of life. PAI's advocacy has made a difference in the lives of Californians with disabilities helping people leave nursing homes and other institutions, getting children with disabilities access to special education and other services and eliminating barriers to employment. PAI provides its services to all Californians with disabilities without charge.
To meet the increasing demand for our assistance, PAI needs your help. PAI is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization and relies on donations to help us create an inclusive society.

Designated giving
PAI has three designated funding opportunities for your gift:
George Peterburs Fellowship
George Peterburs, in whose memory the Legal Fellowship was created, was a close friend of many students who attended the University of California at Davis School of Law (King Hall) in the late 1980s. The Fellowship is to honor his work on behalf of the rights of people with developmental disabilities.
PAI wishes to acknowledge and thank Paul Najar, Esq. Seth Karpinski, Robin Bogoshian and Kristin Ritsema for their time and efforts in the creation and support of the George Peterburs Fellowship. The Fellowship was made possible because of the generous donations of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, LLP and Osbourne & Clarke, LLP.
Al Zonca Fellowship
Named for Al Zonca, PAI's executive director from 1979 until his death in 1993, the fellowship is self-funding. Zonca fellows may represent clients in cases that fall outside PAI's priorities thus allowing PAI to expand its work beyond what would be possible using other funding sources. As with all PAI staff, Zonca fellows do not charge clients directly. They recover fees from the opposing side when PAI's client wins and the law provides for fees.
Accessible Van Fund
Transportation remains one of our biggest hurdles. Our goal is to raise money towards the purchase of 2 fully accessible vans which would be used to transport staff and clients who do not have access to usual modes of transportation. We seek your generous support at this time to fill the gap that our current sources of financial support have not been able to meet. Help PAI reach all Californians with disabilities to ensure that they have choices about their lives.
Attend a PAI event
PAI events promote its work and raises funds essential to accomplish its goals. These events are also a great opportunity to meet others committed to advancing the rights of Californians with disabilities and to interact with PAI's Board of Directors and staff in a more informal setting.
